How we build this map

Where the facts come from

• Part 141 certificates: the FAA's pilot school record. We show the certificate number and the dates the FAA updated it and we checked it. The record we can reach doesn't list each school's approved courses or home airport, so we don't guess them. We never call a school or a course "FAA approved" in our own words.
• Airports: the FAA's national airport data.
• Prices, fleet and offers: only what a school publishes on its own site, or tells us itself, with the date.

What we don't do

• We don't rate, vet, verify or recommend schools, and we don't publish safety claims.
• We don't take bookings, applications or payments for a school. You deal with the school directly.
• Paid placements, when we offer them, are labelled "Sponsored listing — paid placement" and never change the order of facts.
